Virtually no photographic knowledge necessary!
The operation of the Cubelite system is very simple, and a lot of the work is done for you automatically. The most important feature is that the Cubelite works with a constant light source and therefore requires NO flash. This makes composing the shot extremely easy because what you see is what you get.
Once set up the light shines into the Cubelite through the side panel and is diffused as it goes through the special fabric used to construct the Cubelite. This process automatically softens the light and the shadows. The light then bounces off the silver reflector (positioned on the opposite side of the Cubelite) and automatically pushes light back into the other side of the product, creating the effect of another light (as indicated on the image opposite by the red line). The silver reflector is not fixed to the Cubelite so you can tilt it up or down and twist it left or right to create different effects on the lighting and the positioning of the shadows. When you are happy with the position of the reflector you can fix it in that position using the adjustable cords leaving your hands free to operate your camera.
